I build software and web-based solutions for specific problems.
I listen. I understand. I look at the options. Sometimes the right solution is a website. Sometimes it's a custom application, an internal tool, an intranet, an automated workflow — or something running on a small computer in the corner of a room.
I don't start with a technology and look for somewhere to use it. I start by understanding the situation, the people involved and what needs to improve. From there, I choose the best approach: the solution might be a small internal tool, a custom application, an automated workflow, an intranet system — or simply an existing product that already does the job well.

There have been plenty of situations where the obvious solution wasn't the right one. I enjoy finding practical solutions that fit the specific situation rather than forcing a predefined product or process.
Be honest about the options.
If something already on the market solves your problem, I'll tell you. If a custom solution makes more sense, I'll explain why. Either way, you'll get the advantages, disadvantages and trade-offs — not a sales pitch.
Build or adapt?
Not every problem needs a custom application. If WordPress, an existing service or another off-the-shelf solution can do the job well, I'll tell you. I have extensive experience with WordPress and can work with an existing installation just as comfortably as building something from scratch.
Support when you need it.
I build the solution, and I'm still here afterwards. If something needs fixing, changing or improving, you can come back to me. I know the system and how it works.

Vending machines that can update themselves

The problem
Standalone vending machines with touch panels needed to operate independently while allowing their software to be updated remotely.
The solution
A custom web application running locally on a Raspberry Pi, combining an Apache + PHP backend with a JavaScript, HTML and CSS interface. The system was designed with remote software updates in mind.

Product presentations displayed on Android TVs needed to be managed remotely, without requiring someone to physically visit each location.

The solution
A custom web service for managing invoices, users and teams, with the ability to create invoices through a dedicated API.

Dance event registration without the spreadsheets

The problem
Dance events required a customized way to manage registrations, participants, accommodation, coupons and payments in one place.
The solution
A custom web service managing events, participants, coupons and hotels. Online registration connected to a payment gateway, with autogenerated QR codes used for access control.
